Death & Romance in the XXI Century
exhibition at Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary, Trevi (PG), Italy (September 2016 - January 2017)
curated by Maurizio Coccia
about:
Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary presents Death & Romance in the XXI Century - the first solo exhibition by Franko B in an Italian institutional space since 2010, curated by Maurizio Coccia. The exhibition consists of his most recent works, specially produced for the occasion: large metal sculptures, neon, embroidered drawings on canvas and paper, black paintings and his major new marble sculpture, Sleeping Beauty, which was inspired by recent news images of drowned refugees.
Central to the work are the themes dear to the artist: love, respect for diversity, impatience to the hypocrisy of the clergy and political class, antagonism and pragmatism, passion and lucidity. In short, all of the art and contradictions of mankind - the compact and powerful synthesis of a decades long and consistent path.
